Seabrook Island is located in Charleston County, South Carolina with a population of 1,714. The barrier island is considered part of the Charleston metropolitan area. The area was first explored by British subject Lieutenant Colonel Robert Sanford in 1666 and was soon sold to English settlers. During the revolutionary war, the island was used as a staging area for British troops. However, in 1816 the island was sold to William Seabrook, which is where the modern-day island gets its name. www.seabrookisland.com

Charleston Animal Society – The Charleston Animal Society is South Carolina’s largest animal rescue and aims to protect animals against cruelty by education, and innovative strategies including large-scale spay/neuter program. The Animal Society works with police prosecutors and lawmakers to ensure animal cruelty laws are enforced and made stronger.
